2 Playable Acts · Act III Coming Soon

Acts & Campaign

The campaign currently spans two playable acts of 15 levels each, with Act III still in development. Each act has its own difficulty, role unlock schedule and corruption ramp.

Overview

Each act is a difficulty step. Act I trains you on small tables with only the Crook as a corrupt threat. Act II opens up the rest of the corrupt roster, with Manipulator landing last and the Blackmailer cap rising late in the act.

Players range from 5 at the very first level to 14 at the end of every act. Corrupt count climbs from 1 to 6. Role unlocks are stepped per level so a single new piece of information enters the puzzle at a time.

Run-wide rules

  • Three wrong arrests across the entire run. The counter persists between levels.
  • Losing a level ends the run. No retries, no checkpoints. The save is deleted.
  • Professionals carry between levels. Drops earned early in the run still help on later acts.
  • Lives reset at act start. Each new act begins with a fresh life count, but the wrong-arrest counter does not reset within an act.

Act I

Act I · The Crook Easy

Crook only for the first five levels. Silencer enters at level 6. Blackmailer is gated until level 11 and capped at one. Converter and Manipulator do not appear in Act I at all. Most clean roles are progressively unlocked, one per band of levels.

Endless Mode

Endless Mode is the post-campaign surface for your tier. You unlock it the moment you complete the last act your build supports. From the run-complete panel you can step into a procedurally generated stream of levels that inherit difficulty and role pool from the last act of your tier.

Generation rules

  • Player count: 6 to 14, decided per level by a seeded random.
  • Corrupt count: 2 to 6, scaled to player count, with small tables tilted softer (around 40% of seats).
  • Difficulty: inherited from the last level of the highest act in your tier. Demo Endless plays at Easy. Early Access Endless plays at Normal.
  • Seal cycle: the chamber seal animation completes a full cycle every 14 Endless levels.
  • Best record: the highest Endless level you have cleared is saved per tier. Each tier tracks its own record.

Endless levels feed deterministic seeds, so a given run seed plus level index always produces the same chamber. You can lose Endless and the run still ends, but the campaign that unlocked Endless does not get retroactively un-completed.

Build Tiers

Rotten Chamber ships in build tiers that gate how much of the campaign and how much of the corrupt role roster is available. Endless Mode unlocks at the end of whichever act your tier ends on.

Tier scope
Tier Acts Levels Corrupt Roles Endless
Demo I 15 Crook, Silencer, Blackmailer (no Converter or Manipulator) After Act I
Early Access I–II 30 All five corrupt roles After Act II
Note Demo also caps custom games to 7-10 players and Easy difficulty. Early Access lifts the player cap to the full 5-15 range and unlocks Normal difficulty for custom games.
